The Eurita 4 quart Round Dutch Oven features the Eurita brick oven design and comes with an unglazed lid. The exterior lid and base have beautiful embossed designs around the sides of the oval bakers. These clay dishes retain the heat and steam produced during the baking process, which speeds up baking time.
Eurita vessels are made with all natural clay farmed from Portugal. Cooking with steam in natural clay vessels provides healthful, moist and tender results.
使用, first soak the baker lid for ten minutes and fill the bottom chamber with your meat, vegetables, dessert or bread dough. Place the soaked lid on the baker and put the Eurita pot in a cold oven. Preheat the oven and bake your food. Steam will gently release from the moisture in the fine pores of the clay lid as the pot is heated. This moisture inside the baker will help keep your food moist and tender.
Meats prepared in the claypot will be succulent and juicy and have an appetizing, golden crust; soups can simmer slowly and gently for hours without forming a skin or crust; and the flavors of the many ingredients in stews and puddings meld together to an ideal blend when prepared in Eurita bakers.

“Thanks PHG, you have great customer service. It wasn't about what you could sell me. It was about what was the right part.”

Eurita bakers are also excellent for baking bread in! The soaked lid slowly releases steam into your bread as it bakes, and the moisture that naturally bakes out of your loaf will be kept inside your baking chamber. When you bake bread in a covered clay baker, there's no need to spritz your oven with water or to fill steam trays. To achieve a beautiful golden crust, we recommend removing the baker lid about ten minutes before the end of the baking time. Bread baked in covered Eurita bakers boast a moist, tender crumb and crisp, chewy crust.
The 4 quart bottom vessel is lined with a glossy, chemical free glass frit glaze. The glass frit allows for easy and fast cleanup. The inside of the Eurita lids are unglazed, allowing the clay to absorb moisture into its fine pores.
Eurita bakers can be exposed to very high temperatures, but it's critical to heat them slowly to avoid temperature shocks. Each claypot baker is safe to use up to 500° F.
Eurita products have passed all FDA testing and are free of harmful lead and cadmium.
All the Eurita bakeware at Pleasant Hill Grain is handcrafted in Portugal and safe for use in the dishwasher, microwave oven, and conventional oven.
